The fourth quarter of 2022 saw significant trends in downloads and active users for the leading consumer finance apps on Android in the Middle East. Sensor Tower data reveals dynamic shifts in user engagement across SNB Mobile, alrajhi bank, Al Hilal Digital, SNB AlAhli Mobile, and Alinma Bank.

SNB Mobile experienced a notable peak in weekly downloads with approximately 91K downloads during the week of October 10. Although the downloads saw a general decline towards the end of the quarter, they stabilized around 42K by the last week of December. Active users also showed a consistent upward trend, starting at 110K in late September and peaking at around 208K in the week of November 28.

For alrajhi bank, weekly downloads fluctuated between 40K and 61K throughout the quarter, with a significant increase to nearly 50K in the final week of December. Active users displayed a dynamic trend as well, with a peak of 1.12M during the week of October 24, followed by a gradual decrease to about 1.08M by the end of December.

Al Hilal Digital saw a remarkable surge in weekly downloads, especially in December, where downloads skyrocketed to approximately 67K during the week of December 12. This app also saw a significant rise in active users, peaking at around 124K in the same week. However, downloads dropped sharply to just under 3K by the last week of December.

SNB AlAhli Mobile had relatively stable download numbers, with a slight peak of around 35K in late September and early October, but saw a dip to zero downloads in the week of November 21. Active users exhibited a steep decline from 524K in late September to approximately 104K by the end of December.

Lastly, Alinma Bank maintained a steady download rate, with weekly downloads ranging between 9K and 15K. Active users remained relatively stable, with a slight increase from 197K in late September to approximately 213K by the end of December.
